Gratitude, Gather, Believe, Hope

These words give you a feeling, right? Words are important, and so are intentions. Combine intention with mixing an oil blend for a specific purpose, and you truly have something powerful.

I love this month’s freebies because often people go for the necessities–Thieves, lavender, DiGize, peppermint, etc., and miss out on oil blends they may not be sure how to use. I know for me I overlooked the “emotional” oils for a couple of years before really giving them any credit. After the birth of my second daughter I got a Zyto scan at 2 weeks postpartum. I had found my temper quite short, and my feelings were frustrated all the time. Nursing a baby around the clock while juggling a toddler had left me frayed…I scanned for NingXia Red, Master Formula (multi-vitamins with digestive support), and JOY. Basically my body was nutritionally and emotionally depleted.

Oooof.

I’d been using Joy when I felt I was at my breaking point–frustrated and about to blow. After that scan I upped drinking my NingXia Red and started using Joy every morning, afternoon, and evening. Within two weeks I felt a noticeable shift in my emotions. I hadn’t been diagnosed with anything but I was amazed at how differently I felt and how my tolerance was lengthened and spirit relieved.

After that I paid much more attention to those emotional oils! I can say with absolute sincerity each and every emotional oil you can get for free with purchase this month has helped me on a deeply emotional level. Two of my favorite health books are “Switch On Your Brain” by Dr. Caroline Leaf, and “Heal Your Body” by Louise Hay. Both talk about the profound influence your mind has on your body, and when you combine that with the power of essential oils? You truly have something that can bring significant change. I’ve included which emotions these oils can help release as listed in the book, “Releasing Emotional Patterns With Essential Oils” by Caroline Mein–and I highly recommend grabbing a copy of her book as well!

Before we dive into the oily freebies this month and how to use them, let me remind you that this month and EVERY month you get free shipping with an order of 100 PV or more! Every month I see orders at 96 or 97 PV and wish they would have added a lip balm or lime or lemon vitality since they would have spent less!

What’s on your Walmart/Target list this month? Shampoo? Cleaner? Laundry soap? Face or Skin Care? Try swapping it out for something maybe not as toxic (I check everything on the Think Dirty app or EWG or the Good Guide and really read the info on why ingredients are listed as such).

At 190 PV you get the next level of freebies!

Gratitude: This blend was specifically formulated to elevate, soothe, and appease the mind while bringing relief and relaxation to the body. While the body is relaxing, the heart and mind can be opened to receive the gifts that are given each day.

The Desk Reference says that in Luke 17 Jesus healed the 10 lepers, but only one returned to thank him. This blend was formulated with that spirit of a grateful heart. This blend contains Balsam Canada, Frankincense, Myrrh, Ylang Ylang, Bergamot, Coriander, Northern Lights Black spruce Vetiver, and Geranium. Soothing for sure!

This oil helps release the emotions of Not Safe To…(be me, be in my body, live in this world, etc.)

Gathering: The perfect blend to bring loved ones together, this blend raises your attraction rate friends – if you’re doing a Young Living Business (or any business!), this oil is a must. Want to bring more people to your events? This oil! Also, this oil is great for anyone who needs to focus on their highest potential. I like to call this the self-improvement oil.

It’s gives us clarity and helps us stay grounded. The oils in this blend increases the oxygen around the pineal gland and pituitary gland, bringing greater harmonic frequency to receive the communication we desire.

This oil helps to release the emotions of Bad Feelings and Enslaved.

Admittedly these are just fun! Car Fresheners! Add a few drops of your fave oils, pop these in your car, in your drawers, a bag, or closet that needs freshening up!

When you reach 250 PV that qualifies you for even more!

Myrrh promotes spiritual awareness and is uplifting. It contains sesquiterpenes which stimulate the limbic system of the brain (the center of memory and emotions), and the hypothalamus, pineal, and pituitary glands. The hypothalamus is the master gland of the human body producing vital hormones including thyroid and growth hormone. So if you want to love on your hormones and thyroid, use your Myrrh.

I love dabbing myrrh around my sinuses too! This is also a wonderful oil for your skin. Add to your moisturizer or even just apply topically to your skin. It is hydrating and gentle. Myrrh can also help hold the aroma in your DIY roller blends. Add a drop of Myrrh and you will notice have the aroma holds and is more powerful to the nose. If you have a newborn, a drop of myrrh mixed into a 2ml of coconut oil and then dropped on the cord will make magic happen!

This oil helps to release the emotions of Fear of Facing the World, and Difficulty.

The 300 PV Level gets you two more amazing oils.

Believe : (this is one of my FAVORITE smells!) Believe was formulated with us in mind, to help each person release their unlimited potential. So many things can hold us back if we allow them to. That’s why I use Believe, to help me believe in the MORE that is within me, because I was created for so much more, AND SO WERE YOU! Believe helps to restore feelings of hope. If you are in a season of waiting, I hope you use this oil.

Put a drop in your hands, cup your hands over your nose and mouth and take a few deep breaths. Relaaaax. Put it in the diffuser! Add a couple drops in epsom salt in your bath. Drop on your hair then brush or put on the crown of your head! Let’s talk about what’s in it!

1. Idaho Balsam Fir: opens emotional blocks (the things that hold us back) and recharges energy. Gives feelings of strength and inner peace.

2. Coriander: awesome for stomach and health support.

3. Bergamot: both uplifting and calming, and does a great job relieving stress and tension.

4. Frankincense: considered a holy anointing oil. It stimulates the limbic system of the brain (where we process emotions), helps us to overcome stress and feelings of despair. Frank is incredibly uplifting, which is why we love it for keeping the hope.

5. Idaho Blue Spruce: grounding, stimulating to the mind, relaxing to the body.

6. Ylang Ylang: It promotes relaxation, inspires feelings of romance, restores balance and equilibrium, helps to calm the mind, and is a great balancer of male and female energy. And it smells wonderful.

7. Geranium: I love this one to balance my moods, especially hormone-related ones.

Believe helps to release the emotion of Dishonesty.

Hope: This blend contains Melissa, Juniper, Myrrh, and Spruce. This blend helps you connect with a feeling of strength and grounding, restoring hope for tomorrow.

For extreme sadness, rub on the outer area of your ears daily.

Hope is essential for moving forward in life. Hopelessness can cause loss of vision, goals, and dreams. This blend will help you to reconnect with a feeling of strength and grounding, restoring hope for tomorrow.

The blend contains Melissa, Juniper, Myrrh, and Spruce. It is also linked with the emotion of “blindness”- when we close our eyes to things and ignore them as well as lack of respect. Who could use some Hope this month and everyday? Here is a challenge for you – when you get your Hope oil this month, place a drop on your forehead daily and repeat a scripture or positive affirmation to yourself. See what starts to happen!!! And PLEASE go open your reference guide and look up the benefits of Melissa and Myrrh especially! Melissa is a POWERFUL (and very costly) oil. Use those reference guides!

Hope helps to release the emotions of Blindness, Lack of Respect, and Useless.

Well there you have it folks, I hope you get your hands on these oils (or maybe break one out you weren’t sure what to do with) and start using it. When in doubt, put it over your heart. There may be better ways to oil (raindrop massage technique on the spine, RC on the chest, etc.), but there is no wrong way to oil. However you use an oil, it’s going to do you some good.

A World With Octobers

“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” — Anne Shirley, Anne of Green Gables

Me, too, Anne. Brisk mornings and hearty soups, warm apple cider and wool socks. Simple pleasures take on a larger meaning when it comes to autumn. Maybe it’s all the contrasts of a warm sun with a cold breeze, salty caramel with tangy apples, a hot drink sipped wrapped in a blanket outside.

My girls and I have been listening to Little House in the Big Woods and Little House on the Prairie on audio lately, and the first few chapters of Big Woods are so deliciously autumnal–all the storing of the season’s bounty for winter, enjoying playing outside before the snows come. I’m not sure who has enjoyed it more, me or the kids!

If you’re stocking up on your monthly order this month, there’s some great freebies in store from Young Living. Last month we got the Einkorn cereal again and I forgot how delicious it is! Usually my girls add raw honey to the flakes we get but they were excited for “sweet” cereal (it has 8 grams of sugar compared to another certain “honey o” cereal that has much more!). I love that by just buying groceries, deodorant, laundry soap, makeup…not to mention my supplements and oils…I get these freebies!

Celebrate togetherness with this month’s rewards! Gathering with your favorite people becomes even sweeter with your favorite Young Living products on hand. Welcome your guests with the woodsy aroma of Patchouli diffusing in the corner or create your own unique blend by combining Cinnamon Bark, Clove, and Nutmeg. Celebrate the warmth of friendship with a steaming pot of Spiced Turmeric Herbal Tea served in cute Young Living Foundation mugs. And when it’s time to say goodbye, let the evening melt away with ImmuPro™ chewable tablets. At the end of the day we’re all about connection, which is why YL is donating $1 to The D. Gary Young, Young Living Foundation for every 400 PV order. Plus, enjoy a hassle-free fall with free shipping when you reach our 100 PV tier!

Dealing with Bad Air Quality

Here in Southern Oregon it feels like most of the summer has been smoky and we’ve been robbed of our days on the water and hikes–boo. We watch our air quality apps to gauge how much time we spend outside (if at all!) because we know breathing poor quality air can have long-lasting effects on our lungs and worsen chronic heart problems and possibly even affect your brain and fertility.

Despite being careful about time spent outdoors, we know here on the west coast we are still breathing in those particles at some point. Here are a few ways to help reduce the stress on your body and keep things operating optimally.

**Reminder: these statements have not been evaluated by the FDA (because they’re SOOOOO trustworthy). This page is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Information on this page is not intended to replace proper medical help. Consult with the healthcare authority of your choice and remember–you always have a choice.**

Run a HEPA air purifier (or two) in your home and make sure your home air filters are no more than 3 months old. If you live where it’s been smoky for a long time consider changing it more frequently. In 2020 during the Almeda Fire, all air purifiers were out of stock so people used box fans with a home air filter duct taped to the front of it. People I knew who did this said they could see all the dust and particles building up on the filter as proof it was working! We now keep an extra 2-4 filters on hand at all times. This might seem obvious, but still worth mentioning (and this pic is of the purifier we have and we love it).

Use your diffuser! Throw some Raven, R.C., Eucalyptus (any type!), Lavender, Ravintsara, or Pine into your diffuser and breathe deep. Myrtle and Roman chamomile are other great oils to diffuse (and smell so yummy!). Inhaling those oil molecules deep into your lungs can provide a lot of support.

We also like to rub Breathe Again, R.C., or Raven on our upper chest and backs or on the Vitaflex points for lungs on the soles of our feet.

*I do recommend turning your air purifier off while diffusing or using it in a different room–no need for those oils to go to waste!*

Take a detox bath. Regardless of wildfire smoke, our bodies are constantly accumulating toxins from our environment, products, food, and water. Regular detox baths help you body out.

I follow a detox bath recipe from a friend who is trained in lymphatic detox release:
4 cups Epsom Salts
4 cups Baking Soda
4 cups Hydrogen Peroxide

I add a few drops of lavender, cypress, or eucalyptus to the epsom salts before stirring them into the water. Soak for 20-30 minutes and drink a LOT of water–just go ahead a take a glass in there with you!

Why these ingredients?

Epsom Salt: It’s is rich in magnesium & sulfate, which are easily absorbed through the skin & aid in detoxification. It acts as a broad spectrum cleanser, clearing lymphatic congestion, removing some heavy metals and helping remove residual radiation & chemical exposures. Of course, it’s a smooth muscle relaxant & helps with muscle strain & pain. Epsom salts help replenish the body’s magnesium levels, which combats hypertension. It also induces sweating! They create a dense bathwater, and osmotic pressure pulls toxin-laden fluids out of the body.

Baking Soda: It’s a drawing agent that’s known for it’s cleansing abilities, and even has anti-fungal properties. It helps neutralize chemicals like chlorine, & increases mineral absorption. It also naturally alkaline, which aids in removing toxins. (ALL disease needs an acidic environment to live!)

Hydrogen Peroxide: Of all the ways to oxygenate the body, this is the easiest & cheapest. By cleansing & purifying our skin, our bodies are more equipped to better eliminate toxins. Peroxide can help destroy toxins, organisms & even pulls out the residue left by soaps & other (toxic) body products. It’s also antibacterial and antiviral.

If you feel lightheaded time to get out of the bath and rinse off with a lukewarm or cool shower.

Drink your water and add some lemon vitality. Water seems like a no-brainer but we often need a reminder to keep sipping through the day to stay hydrated and keep flushing our systems.

Adding lemon or another citrus vitality essential oil to your water can help support your lymphatic system which clears away toxins and waste and is part of your immune system.

Pulmonary Rehabilitation. Sounds fancy, but basically–it’s exercise! A quick search will yield lots of articles and videos on specifics for this, but exercise–both aerobic and anaerobic–aid in conditioning your diaphragm and making your lungs more efficient.

This seems like common sense but exercise in clean air–not where it’s smoky.

Herbal teas that can offer support are slippery elm, marshmallow root, licorice root, peppermint, or lobelia. Chamomile also makes a soothing tea to drink and an eyewash for irritated eyes.

Mushrooms turkey tail and ashwagandha are also great for supporting your immune system.

Take care of your liver. Those particles that you inhale and are small enough to pass through your lungs and into your bloodstream will be filtered by your liver. Eating fresh, whole foods–particularly those that are not inflammatory–provides your body with the tools it needs to eliminate toxins and regenerating itself. Foods like garlic, onions, and broccoli help increase enzyme activity–refined sugars can lower it.

Essential oils that can help support the liver are JuvaFlex Vitality, JuvaCleanse Vitality, GLF (gallbladder/liver function) Vitality, Orange Vitality, Ledum Vitality, Celery Seed Vitality, Lemon Vitality, Carrot Seed Vitality, and Cardamom Vitality. These can be taken in a vegetable capsule or drank in water–I love lemon in my water or you can put it in hot water with lemon to make a tea.

Supplements that are fantastic at supporting a healthy liver are JuvaTone Tablets, JuvaPower, Longetivity Softgels, and Sulfurzyme.

These are some foundational ways to help support your body on ANY day, but especially during prolonged exposure to wildfire smoke. Your body is constantly regenerating itself–it’s important to provide it with the best building blocks to do so.
